Random Bible Verses

Sourcing & Translations

This page explains how VerseFlow selects and displays Scripture: which Bible text options are currently available in the selector, how we label them, and how to verify context.

Key takeaways

  • We prioritize Bible text options that can be identified clearly in the product so you can see what you are reading.
  • The translation list on this page is generated from the same registry as the Bible text selector, so labels and ordering stay synchronized.
  • We show dataset freshness so you can see when the verse dataset was last updated.
  • If a verse stirs your spirit, open your Bible and read the full chapter for context.

A note on the Word

VerseFlow currently supports several public-facing Bible text options, and the selector lets you choose between them directly.

This page follows the same runtime registry as the selector so the documented list stays aligned with what the site actually offers.

My goal as Joshua N is not to replace careful study, but to offer a quiet place where a clear verse can point you back to Scripture and its full context.

Translations we use

VerseFlow currently exposes these public-facing Bible text options in the Bible text selector. The labels below are rendered from the same canonical source as the selector itself.

World English Bible (WEB)

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: English

Reina-Valera 1909

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: Spanish

Louis Segond

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: French

Schlachter 1912

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: German

Russian Synodal Bible

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: Russian

Arabic Van Dyck

Available in the current Bible text selector.

Language: Arabic

Translation labels help you identify the text in view, but they are not a replacement for reading the full chapter in context.

Some English-only comparison or legacy reading surfaces may still reference KJV in specific contexts. KJV is not part of the main Bible text selector list above.

How verse attribution works on VerseFlow

  1. Verse displays show the active Bible text label so you can verify which text you are reading.
  2. This page documents the same Bible text options shown in the current selector, using the same ordering and labels.
  3. When possible, open the full chapter to confirm context, audience, and tone.

A gentle note on care

VerseFlow is a spiritual tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, or pastoral care. If you feel unsafe or in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Dataset freshness

For transparency, we display when the verse dataset (verses.json) was last updated:

Verses dataset: Last updated March 3, 2026

If you maintain verses.json in a plugin or a different theme directory, set the filter “verseflow_verses_json_path” to the absolute file path so this date stays accurate.

Who is responsible for VerseFlow

VerseFlow is curated and maintained by Joshua N. The purpose of VerseFlow is to help you find a clear verse quickly, then encourage you to confirm meaning by reading in context.
